About Coolflow Air Conditioning

Coolflow Air Conditioning installs, services and repairs air conditioning for homes and businesses across Bellville and the northern suburbs. Every technician is SAQCC Gas registered, so refrigerant work is done legally and properly, and every installation is commissioned before we leave.

We size units on the room, its sun and how it is used, and quote the unit and the installation separately so you can compare. Existing units get a proper service that protects the warranty and keeps the electricity bill down.

WhatsApp a photo of the room, or of the unit and its error code, and we will tell you what happens next.

How we work

  1. 1

WhatsApp the room or the problem

Send a photo of the room, or of the unit and the error on the display. That is often enough to quote an installation or diagnose a fault.

  2. 2

    Sized and quoted

We size the unit on the room, the sun it gets and how it is used, then quote the unit and the installation separately so you can compare.

  3. 3

    Installed and commissioned

Neat pipe runs, proper vacuum and pressure test, condensate drained correctly, and the unit commissioned by a registered technician.

  4. 4

    Serviced on schedule

A service plan that keeps filters clean, coils clear and gas levels right, so the unit keeps its efficiency and its warranty.

Frequently asked questions

What size air conditioner do I need?

It depends on the room's floor area, ceiling height, how much sun it gets and how many people use it. A bedroom of 12 to 16 square metres usually takes a 9 000 BTU unit; a sunny living room of 30 square metres needs 18 000 BTU or more. We size on the room, not the price list.

My unit is dripping water inside. What should I do?

Switch it off at the isolator or the plug and send us a message. The usual cause is a blocked condensate drain or dirty filters; leaving it running risks water damage to the wall.

Why is my air conditioner blowing warm air?

Most often dirty filters or coils, a unit low on refrigerant because of a leak, or a fault on the outdoor unit. Try cleaning the filters first; if that does not help, send us the make and model and any error code on the display.

How often should an air conditioner be serviced?

Once a year for a home unit, twice a year for units in offices, shops or kitchens. A service keeps the unit efficient, prevents mould in the coils and is required by most manufacturers to keep the warranty valid.

What is a regas, and why do you fix the leak first?

An air conditioner is a sealed system; it should never need gas. If it is low, refrigerant has leaked out. Topping up without finding the leak wastes your money and the gas, so we find and repair the leak, pressure test, then regas.

Who is allowed to work with refrigerant gas?

By law, a practitioner registered with SAQCC Gas. Ask for the registration number; a registered technician will give it without hesitation.
